STARTUP VISA (SUV)

Program Changes

Beginning 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) made some important changes to the SUV program to make applying easier and offer more support to international entrepreneurs. The main changes are:

  1. Open Work Permit for Main Applicant for a period of three years.

  2. Designated Entities limited to supporting 10 startups on a yearly basis.

  3. Priority consideration who receive support from a business incubator with a minimum capital of $75,000.

  4. Economics Benefits to Canada.

  5. Permanent Residency quota: 3,000 in 2025, 2,000 in 2026

  6. Peer Review Process have been discontinued.
